Order-specific scope

When a client requires certification, we extend the scope for the order as needed with WPS (welding procedure specification) and WPQR (welding procedure qualification record).

Where to verify our certificates

You can verify TÜV Rheinland Polska certificates with the certification body, and EN 15085-2 also in the ECWRV register (en15085.joincert.eu). ISO 9001 can be verified on the LL-C website (ll-c.net/verification) using the code 1DE0AD39-BA4. All documents, including ISO 14001: ECAD certificates.

ECAD welding services: manual, laser and robotic metal welding

The ECAD welding shop at ul. Elektronowej 6 in Lodz combines manual, laser and robotic welding. Welding at ECAD covers structural steel, stainless steel and aluminium structures as well as other metals to order, from individual parts to complete assemblies.

From cutting to 3D inspection: welding in a single order

We prepare components for welding at the same plant: sheet metal bending and tube and profile bending are done in-house. We can inspect the finished assembly with a Scantech NimbleTrack-C Gen2 3D scanner and a Mitutoyo height gauge.

  1. Cutting and bending

We laser cut sheet metal and bend it on a press brake, while tubes and profiles are bent on a CNC mandrel tube bender.

  2. Welding

We weld manually, by laser and on two FANUC robots. We weld stainless steel and aluminium at a dedicated workstation, and for the rail industry in accordance with EN 15085-2.

  3. Stress-relief annealing

We can anneal the welded assembly in our own furnace with a 1000 × 1200 × 800 mm chamber to reduce internal stresses.

  4. 3D inspection

We can verify the dimensions of the finished assembly using a 3D scanner and a Mitutoyo height gauge.

Welding in Lodz, ul. Elektronowa 6

The ECAD welding shop is located at our plant at ul. Elektronowa 6 in Lodz, open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:00. The company has been operating since 2008 and employs 25 people. The EN 15085-2, EN ISO 3834-2 and ISO 9001:2015 certificates apply to this plant; the company also holds ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management system). See contact and directions, machine park and our full range of services.

What to send for a welding quote

We quote welding based on documentation, not from a price list. Send an assembly drawing or 3D model, material grade and thickness, quantity and the required standard (e.g. CL level according to EN 15085-2). If you know whether you need manual or robotic welding, let us know; if not, we will select the method ourselves.

The order price depends on:

  • material, grade and thickness
  • number and complexity of welds
  • requirements for welds and welding documentation
  • cutting and bending parts before welding (see what affects the price of cutting and bending)
  • stress-relief annealing and 3D inspection after welding
  • quantity and lead time

Questions about welding and welding services

What welding services does ECAD offer?

Manual and robotic welding (on two FANUC robots), laser welding, stainless steel and aluminium welding at a dedicated workstation, welded structures, and welding for the rail industry in accordance with EN 15085-2. We work with Kemppi welding machines. Spot welding will be added soon.

What materials do you weld, including stainless steel and aluminium?

We weld structural steel, stainless steel, aluminium and other metals to order; stainless steel and aluminium are welded at a dedicated workstation. Specify the material and grade in your enquiry. Details: stainless steel and aluminium welding.

What is the difference between manual and robotic welding?

A robot guides the torch along a programmed path and is usually cost-effective for repeatable parts and series. We weld on two FANUC robots and manually at three workstations equipped with CUBE tables. Whether we weld your part by robot or manually is determined at the quoting stage.

What welding certificates does ECAD hold?

We hold two welding certificates: EN 15085-2 (welding for the rail industry, level CL 2, activity P) and EN ISO 3834-2 (comprehensive quality requirements for fusion welding). EN ISO 3834-2 covers processes 135 (MAG) and 141 (TIG) as well as material groups 1.1, 1.2 and 8.1 (austenitic stainless steels, Cr ≤ 19%). It applies to the manufacture of rail vehicles and their parts, as well as components for machinery structures. You can download the documents, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, on the ECAD certificates page.

Does every welding order require a certificate?

No. Some orders do not require a welding certificate. If your order requires a specific standard, for example EN 15085-2 for the rail industry, mention this in your enquiry. We will agree on the requirements at the quoting stage.

How much does welding cost?

We do not have a price list; we quote every order based on an assembly drawing or 3D model. The price depends on the material, the number and complexity of welds, requirements for welding documentation, quantity and lead time.

What is the minimum order quantity for welding?

We accept welding orders from a single piece to series production. For the rail industry, we weld in accordance with EN 15085-2.
