CNC turning in Lodz with driven tools

We perform CNC turning on three Mazak lathes with driven tools: we turn and mill shafts, bushes and other rotational parts in a single setup. We quote turning services from a drawing or 3D model, from one-offs to series runs.

Turning and milling in a single setup shortens the operation chain: the part does not need to be re-clamped.

Turning services: three Mazak lathes with driven tools

We turn using driven tools on three Mazak lathes. Driven tools are powered drills, milling cutters and taps in the lathe turret. They allow the part to be turned and milled in a single setup, without transferring it to a separate milling machine. The part does not lose its datum between turning and milling. Whether the entire part can be made in a single setup depends on its shape, which we verify when quoting.

Mazak — CNC lathes with driven tools. Number of machines: 3. Tooling: driven tools. Operations in 1 setup: turning + milling. Typical parts: shafts, bushes, rotational parts. Location: ECAD, Lodz, Elektronowa 6.

When quoting, we check whether the part will fit on the lathe and whether we can machine it in a single setup.

  • Turning

We turn shafts, bushes and other rotational parts on three Mazak lathes, from one-offs to series runs.

  • Milling in the same setup

Driven tools mill, drill and tap the part without transferring it to another machine, provided the part geometry allows it.

  • Dimensional inspection

We can inspect the finished part with a Scantech NimbleTrack 3D scanner, or on a granite surface plate using a Mitutoyo height gauge.

Metal and plastics turning: materials and grades

We turn metals (structural and stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and bronze) as well as plastics and rubber. The table lists example grades for shafts, bushes and other rotational parts. The full list of material groups can be found in the CNC machining materials table.

Stainless steel turning

Stainless steel turning covers 304 and 316 grades as well as duplex. This group machines differently from structural steel, so we select tooling and cutting parameters to match the specific grade.

Turning hardened steel, nickel alloys and duplex requires different tooling and cutting parameters than turning structural steel. We select them to suit the grade, and confirm the part diameter, length and tolerances when quoting.

Turning of aluminium, brass, copper and bronze

We turn shafts, sleeves and other rotational parts from aluminium, brass, copper and bronze. Brass machining differs from steel machining, so please specify the material in your enquiry.

Turning of plastics and rubber

Plastics turning covers polyamide, Teflon (PTFE), POM, PEEK, PE and PP; we also turn rubber. Plastics require different parameters from metals, so we select them to match the material.

CNC turning in the production chain

A turned and milled part can then be ground or wire-eroded, welded into an assembly and inspected, all at the same plant at Elektronowa 6.

  1. Turning and milling

We turn and mill the workpiece in a single setup on a lathe with driven tools.

  2. Grinding or wire EDM

We grind precision flat surfaces and cut complex contours by wire EDM.

What to send for a CNC turning quote

We quote CNC turning on the basis of a drawing or 3D model. We do not have a per-piece or machine-hour price list. Send us your part documentation. Don’t have a drawing? We can scan the part with a 3D scanner at our plant or at your site, and our design office will build the model. More: reverse engineering and 3D scanning.

Include the material and grade from the drawing in your enquiry; sample grades are listed in the material table. We confirm the grade, dimensions and tolerances for a specific part when preparing the quote.

The order price will depend on:

  • material and its grade
  • part diameter and length
  • shape complexity and number of milling operations
  • dimensional tolerances and surface roughness
  • quantity
  • lead time
  1. Send a drawing or 3D modelPDF, DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES, photos (JPG, PNG, TIFF) or a ZIP or 7Z archive. Up to 10 files, up to 100 MB in total.
  2. Describe your orderMaterial, dimensions, tolerances (if critical), quantity and lead time.
  3. We will reply with questions and a priceWe will review your submission and send a quote or ask for any missing details.
