Stainless steel and aluminium welding
We perform stainless steel and aluminium welding at a dedicated bay at the ECAD plant in Lodz. We also weld other metals to order. We accept orders from single pieces to batch runs, quoting from a technical drawing or 3D model.
Welding of austenitic stainless steel is covered by our EN ISO 3834-2 certificate (scope detailed in the questions below); some orders do not require certification.
Dedicated bay for stainless steel and aluminium welding
At our welding shop at ul. Elektronowa 6 in Lodz, we have a dedicated bay for stainless steel and aluminium welding. The same welding shop also houses two FANUC welding robots and three bays with CUBE welding tables (CUBEWELD brand, website cubeweld.pl). At this bay we weld stainless steel and aluminium, from single pieces to batch runs.
Manual welding is carried out using Kemppi welding machines. Thin stainless steel sheet metal can also be welded by laser: see laser welding. The EN ISO 3834-2 certificate does not cover laser welding.

Stainless steel and aluminium in a single order: from cutting to 3D inspection
We prepare parts for welding at the same plant and can inspect the finished part with a 3D scanner within a single order.
| Stage | Description | See |
|---|---|---|
Cutting and bending | We prepare the sheet metal flat pattern by laser cutting and press brake bending. | Laser cutting |
Welding (stage covered on this page) | We weld stainless steel and aluminium at a dedicated workstation, from one-offs to series production. | |
Heat treatment, if required | Whether a stainless steel or aluminium part requires heat treatment after welding is agreed at the quoting stage. | Stress-relief annealing |
Dimensional inspection | We can check the dimensions of the finished part using a Scantech NimbleTrack-C Gen2 3D scanner and a Mitutoyo height gauge. | 3D quality inspection |

Questions about stainless steel and aluminium welding
Are you certified for welding stainless steel?
Yes, for group 8.1 austenitic stainless steel (Cr ≤ 19%, e.g. 304 and 316L). ECAD’s EN ISO 3834-2 certificate covers processes 141 (TIG welding) and 135 (MAG) in material groups 1.1, 1.2 and 8.1. It applies to the production of rail vehicles or their parts and machine structure components. It was issued by TÜV Rheinland Polska and is valid until 24.09.2030. Full scope: ECAD certificates.
Do you weld aluminium and other metals?
Yes. We weld aluminium, stainless steel, structural steel and other metals to order. We weld aluminium and stainless steel at a dedicated workstation, from one-offs to series production. In your enquiry, please specify the material and grade, as well as any certificate or standard required for the order.
At what workstation do you weld stainless steel and aluminium?
ECAD welds stainless steel and aluminium at a dedicated workstation in the welding shop at ul. Elektronowa 6 in Lodz. The same welding shop also houses two FANUC welding robots and three workstations with CUBE tables. See our full machine park.
Is welding ‘nierdzewka’, acid-resistant steel and stainless steel the same service?
Yes. In workshop practice, stainless steel and acid-resistant steel (one of its grades) are often referred to by colloquial names. We weld acid-resistant steel at the same separate workstation as stainless steel.
How much does aluminium and stainless steel welding cost?
We do not have a price list. We price aluminium and stainless steel welding on the basis of a drawing or 3D model. The price depends on the material and grade, part thickness and dimensions, number and complexity of welds, weld and welding documentation requirements, quantity and lead time.
