Actual tube bending on a machine from the VLB EB53CNC series. Manufacturer’s film: VLB Group. Source of the material.

CNC tube bending on a VLB bender EB53CNC-RH

The CNC tube bender is fully electric and controlled on 11 axes. It bends round tubes with diameters 6–53 mm, including steel tubes up to Ø 53 × 2 mm. Whether a profile or component can be bent depends on its cross-section, wall thickness, material and tooling; we check this when preparing a quotation.

6–53 mm: round tube diameters

Bending right and to the left

The head rotates by 360°, so successive arcs in different directions are bent in a single cycle, without repositioning the tube.

Tube mandrel bending

In mandrel bending, the mandrel supports the tube from the inside at the bending location. This limits section flattening and folds on the inner side of the arc.

Several radii in a single component

In a single cycle, the machine bends arcs with constant or variable radii up to 255 mm. We prepare the CNC programme from a 3D model.

Tube and profile bending process step by step

  1. Model or drawing. From the 3D model or drawing, we take the tube diameter and wall thickness, radii, angles and lengths of straight sections. We use the model to prepare the CNC programme.
  2. Tool selection. Tools and the mandrel are selected based on the diameter, wall thickness and material. Whether we can bend your tube or profile is checked during quotation.
  3. Bending on a CNC machine. The electric VLB EB53CNC-RH mandrel bender bends round tubes with diameters of 6–53 mm. Its head rotates 360°, so bends in both directions can be made in a single cycle without repositioning the tube.
  4. Welding and measurement. Bent pipes and profiles are welded in a complete assembly or steel structure and we check dimensions using a 3D scanner.

Pipe in one job: bending, welding, 3D measurement

We weld bent tubes and profiles into finished assemblies and check their dimensions with a 3D scanner. Where needed, we combine this work with sheet metal bending (PL) and laser cutting.

Tube bending in Łódź, Elektronowa 6

Among other projects, we have made protective mirror arms from bent tubes.

We bend tubes and profiles at our facility at ul. Elektronowa 6 in Łódź, open Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00. We have operated since 2008 and employ 25 people. See contact and directions and machine park (PL).

How to order tube bending

We quote tube bending from a 3D model or drawing rather than a price list. Please send the model or drawing with the tube diameter and wall thickness, radii, angles and straight-section lengths. More: what affects the price of cutting and bending (PL).

The price is affected by:

  • diameter and wall thickness
  • material and its grade
  • radii and number of bends
  • Tube length
  • quantity
  • welding and lead time

Questions about tube bending and profiles

What tube diameters do you bend?

The VLB EB53CNC-RH bends round tubes with diameters of 6–53 mm, including steel tubes up to Ø 53 × 2 mm. Whether we can bend your tube or profile depends on its dimensions, wall thickness, material, bending radius and tooling; we check this when preparing a quotation.

What is the minimum bending radius?

The minimum bending radius depends on the tube diameter and wall thickness, material and tooling; we will provide this for your tube during quotation. The maximum radius is 255 mm.

Will the tube be flattened after bending?

This is mandrel bending: a mandrel supports the tube from the inside. This limits cross-section flattening and folds on the inner side of the arc.

Do you bend tubes from a single piece?

Yes, we bend from a single piece to series, with drawing or 3D model.

Do you bend steel, stainless steel and aluminium tubes?

We bend steel tubes on the VLB EB53CNC-RH. We assess stainless steel and aluminium tubes and profiles when preparing a quotation, based on their dimensions, wall thickness and tooling. Send us a drawing or 3D model so we can check.

How much does tube bending cost?

We do not have a price list; we provide quotations based on a model or drawing. The price depends on the wall thickness, material, number of bends, quantity, and additional operations. See what affects the price (PL).
